Owned by the District of Columbia, this 30+ year-old community garden offers residents of McLean Gardens the opportunity to have a plot for flowers, vegetables, and other plants.
Any District resident can apply for membership. Members pay a nominal fee per year and contribute 10 hours of volunteer work to the Newark St. Community Garden Association ($25 for the first year; $15 for renewals or $20 without volunteer work). Tools, mulch, and water are available to gardeners.
