Governance

The Board of Directors of the McLean Gardens Condominium Unit Owners Association (MGCA) acts on behalf of the Association.  Both the Board and the Association abide by a set of governing documents which include the District of Columbia Condominium Act, and the Association Declaration, Bylaws, Policy Resolutions, General Rules, and additional policy statements.

The Board is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the common elements of the condominium association such as the building exteriors, entry halls and stairwells, administration building, and the like.  The Board also oversees the management of condominium facilities under their purview.  Maintenance issues within each unit are the responsibility of the unit owner.

The Board is greatly assisted by the work of Association Committees.  The standing committees are the lifeblood of our community.  Composed of volunteers, these committees provide a wide variety of services and programs for McLean Gardens residents and also knowledge, research, and recommendations for the Board of Directors as it considers the multitude of matters that require its decisions.
